Employment and Professional Activity
June -Sept '06 Collaborative project to self publish a children's book with writer, Nicky Strang. The story is titled I've Never Seen Anything Quite like That! Nicky wrote the story and I did the llustrations. The project received funding assistance from the Regional Arts Development Fund.
March - April '06 Concept Artist for Animalia, a new computer generated TV series, based on the children's book of the same name by Graeme Base.
Aug - Dec '04 Exhibition of Animatronics called "How To Make A Monster" by John Cox's Creature Workshop. My part involved exhibition concepts, preparing film creatures for show, that I had sculpted over the years, and the creation of new creatures specifically for the exhibition.

Feb '93 to present Freelance Artist/Sculptor, Illustrator and Designer. Projects include:
- June - Oct '93 - Sculptor for Bloomfield Streetscape Project, Redland Shire Council. One of four sculptors selected to design and create a sculptural playground. Also commissioned to produce, individually, an original bronze sculpture.
- Feb - July '95 - Co-ordinating Artist for the Morningside Community Precinct Project, funded by the Brisbane City Council. I produced a comprehensive streetscape design for the town centre of Morningside, a Brisbane suburb. This included a master plan in conjunction with landscape architects, a detailed scale model, and a report in book form.
- Professional liaison with Qld College of Art, Gateway and Murwillumbah TAFE Colleges.
- Magazine cover art and illustration for RACQ Road Ahead and Choral Journal (US)
- Numerous educational poster Illustrations up to A2 size. Clients include Coca Cola, Qld Dept. of Natural Resources, Kids in Brisbane, Energy Action Australia, Redland Shire Council, and Cleanaway.
April '88 - Feb '93 Co-founder and director of Planet Productions Pty Ltd - creating specialized props and displays for retail, theatre, film and TV, theme parks, festivals and events - e.g. Myer Christmas Animated Windows, Indy Gold Coast, The Big Banana.
Jan '87 - April '88 Sculpting and exhibit construction for Exhibit Resources, contractors to World Expo '88 - constructing 3d/sculptural exhibits and parade floats - promoted to project foreman.

- Set painting and design for Qld Conservatorium of Music, Twelfth Night Theatre, and various theatre restaurants/nightclubs.
- Advertising graphics and cartooning
- T shirt graphic design and screenprinting

- for a little character building (and money), I also did some drink waiting, and labouring for a builder and landscape designer.
During 1980 - '83 Scenic and set painting with Designer Max Hurley, for Qld Lyric and Light Opera.
Aug '79 - Dec '84 Artist/Sculptor for Myer QLD Stores - working on Myer Christmas Animated Windows, advertising and package design, murals, and sculptural theming.
Other Artistic Pursuits
- 26 years involvement with the Mt Cotton Drama Group, a lively local amateur theatre troupe. My interests have been in set design, acting, unusual props, promotional design, and collaborative writing of original plays.
- An as yet unpublished children's book-in-progress - "Late For Dinner Again".
- Persistent attempts in taming the banjo and guitar.
